When I think about donuts I think about sugary foods. I haven’t even tried to make vegan donuts because I didn’t want to use oil or sugar in my recipes. One day my daughter asked me to make donuts. I decided to buy donut molds and started experimenting with recipes.
These Apple Cinnamon donuts turned out so good!
Ingredients
Donut Batter
- 100 grams oat flour
- 40 grams almond flour
- 25 grams tapioca starch
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tbsp cinnamon , ground
- 8 tbsp maple syrup
- 100 grams water, warm
- 1 medium apple, cubed
Glaze
- 6 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp almond butter
- 1 tbsp cinnamon, ground
Instructions
- Mix dry and wet ingredients separately
- Mix everything together
- Add cubed apples
- Bake donuts in greased donut mold for 15 minutes at 350F/180C degrees.
Glaze
- Combine together maple syrup, almond butter and cinnamon
- Warm the glaze in double boiler (simmer water in the pot, place bowl with glaze over top)
